COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Digital Construction requires students to complete a set of core modules designed to build advanced knowledge and practical skills in the digital transformation of the construction industry. The course begins with Computing for AI, which introduces the computational tools and artificial intelligence concepts relevant to digital construction. Data Visualisation further develops the ability to interpret and present complex construction data effectively, enabling clearer communication and decision-making. Innovation in Construction explores how digital tools and new methods can improve processes, efficiency, and sustainability within the built environment. Modules such as BIM Process and Practice and BIM and Lead Integration provide an in-depth understanding of BIM workflows, standards, and collaborative approaches, preparing students to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams and manage digital projects effectively. BIM and Automation introduces students to advanced automation technologies that are reshaping construction practices, allowing for smarter and more efficient design and construction processes. The Individual Master’s Project, worth 60 credits, allows students to apply their learning to a substantial piece of independent research or practice-based work, often linked to industry challenges. Together, these modules prepare graduates for leadership roles in BIM and digital construction.
