COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Big Data Analytics course requires students to complete a structured set of core modules totalling 180 credits, designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the field. Modules such as Modern Optimisation and Applied Statistics give a strong mathematical and analytical foundation, equipping students with the tools to solve complex problems and interpret large datasets accurately. Advanced Databases and Big Data Management focus on the principles and technologies needed to store, process, and manage large volumes of data efficiently. Data Mining introduces students to techniques for uncovering patterns and insights within complex datasets, while Web Social Media Analytics and Visualisation develops skills in analyzing online behavior and presenting findings in meaningful and impactful ways. The highlight of the course is the Individual Master’s Project, worth 60 credits, which allows students to apply the knowledge and skills they have gained to a significant research or industry-focused project.
