COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Applied Artificial Intelligence requires students to complete a set of core modules totalling 140 credits, alongside 40 credits from a chosen pathway in either AI or Fintech. The core modules provide a strong foundation in computing for AI, machine learning, applied AI and deep learning, ensuring students build both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in these key areas. The course culminates in an individual Master’s project worth 60 credits, allowing students to apply their learning to a substantial independent or industry-linked research project. To tailor their studies, students select one of two pathways. The AI pathway offers modules in data visualisation and the impact of AI, equipping students to critically evaluate and communicate complex data as well as understand the societal and ethical implications of AI technologies. The Fintech pathway provides modules in risk management and portfolio analysis, enabling learners to apply AI to financial systems, assess risks, and optimise investment strategies. This structure combines a rigorous technical foundation with specialised knowledge in applied contexts, preparing graduates for careers in artificial intelligence across a range of industries, including technology, finance, healthcare and beyond, or for further academic research and professional development.
