COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Applied Child Psychology is structured around 160 credits of core modules and 20 credits of optional modules, providing a blend of theoretical knowledge, applied practice, and research skills. Core modules include The Applied Psychology of Child and Adolescent Development, which examines developmental processes across childhood and adolescence, and Neurodiversity in Applied Contexts, focusing on supporting children with diverse neurological profiles. Skills and Methods for Applied Research in Child Psychology equips students with the tools to design and conduct research, while Child and Adolescent Clinical Psychology and Educational Psychology in Practice explore practical applications of psychological principles in clinical and educational settings. The program culminates in the Empirical Research Project in Applied Child Psychology, a substantial 60-credit module that allows students to carry out an independent research study on a specialist area of interest. To complement these, students choose one optional 20-credit module, such as Practitioner Reflection and Development, which supports professional growth, or Applying Skills to Working with Children, which emphasizes practical application in child-focused contexts.
