COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Acting course is structured around core modules that total 180 credits, combining practical training, professional development, and creative exploration. The program begins with Acting Exercises, a 40-credit module that develops fundamental performance techniques through focused practice in voice, movement, and character work. Acting Skills 1 builds on this with 20 credits dedicated to refining technical ability and performance confidence, while Workshop 1 and 2, also worth 20 credits, provide opportunities to experiment with different acting methodologies, styles, and approaches in a collaborative environment. Professional Studies, a 20-credit module, prepares students for the realities of the acting profession by focusing on industry knowledge, self-presentation, and employability. The Production module, also worth 20 credits, enables students to put their training into practice by participating in a fully staged performance, offering valuable experience in working within a professional-style environment. The course culminates in the Major Project, a substantial 60-credit module where students independently develop and deliver a significant piece of creative work, demonstrating their artistic identity and technical skills. Together, these modules provide a balance of rigorous training, industry preparation, and creative exploration, ensuring graduates are fully equipped for professional careers in acting and performance.
