COURSE CURRICULUM

This course offers a strong interdisciplinary foundation that blends psychology and criminology, providing both theoretical depth and practical skills. In the first year, students gain essential knowledge through core modules such as the history and development of psychology, the study of individual differences, and key criminological theories. A solid grounding in research methods and statistics prepares students for the analytical demands of later years, while modules like the Criminal Justice System introduce them to the real-world applications of their studies. Optional modules such as Introduction to Psychopathology or Positive Psychology allow students to tailor their learning early on based on their interests. In the second year, the focus shifts to developing more advanced research skills through both qualitative and quantitative methods. Neuropsychology adds a biological dimension to understanding behaviour, which complements the theoretical base built in the first year. Applied Social Psychology and Lifespan Psychology bring a practical and developmental focus to real-world issues.
