In the first year of the Built Environment program, students are introduced to essential topics such as *Introduction to the Built Environment* (20 credits), where they explore the impact of various stakeholders and broader forces like Politics, Economy, Society, Technology, Law, and the Environment (PESTLE) on development processes. *Built Environment Technology 1* (20 credits) introduces modern and sustainable construction methods, focusing on materials, building services, and regulations through practical examples like low-rise residential construction. The *Law* module (20 credits) covers basic legal principles relevant to built environment professionals. In *Integrated Digital Design: Residential* (20 credits), students learn the fundamentals of Building Information Modelling (BIM) technology and its role in modern residential design and development. *Construction Site Management Practice* (20 credits) teaches the management of construction sites, covering site planning, resource management, and health and safety considerations. Lastly, the *Innovation in the Built Environment* module (20 credits) focuses on the importance of incorporating new technologies, sustainable materials, and efficient techniques to improve design and project management in the built environment.In the second year of the Built Environment program, students delve into key areas of construction and project management. The *Procurement* module (20 credits) focuses on understanding the procurement process, its impact on time, cost, quality, and sustainability, and how various strategies are applied to meet project objectives. *Civil Engineering* (20 credits) uses problem-based learning to explore the technology and innovation within civil engineering, helping students interpret project site information and understand construction processes. *Built Environment Commercial Technology* (20 credits) examines the factors affecting the selection of building methods and materials for commercial and industrial buildings, along with the complexities of large-scale projects and environmental services systems. In *Integrated Digital Design for Complex Structures* (20 credits), students explore the role of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in the planning and development of complex infrastructure projects, focusing on the social, economic, and environmental benefits of coordinated design. The *Money Matters in Construction* module (20 credits) enhances students' understanding of economic theories, cost considerations, and commercial management practices in construction projects, covering everything from feasibility to life cycle costs. Lastly, *Operational Management* (20 credits) equips students with technical and managerial skills needed to plan, program, and manage resources on construction sites, focusing on areas such as health and safety, risk assessment, communication, and regulatory compliance.
