In the first year, students are required to complete a series of core modules totaling 120 credits. *Built Environment Technology 1* introduces modern and sustainable construction methods, focusing on low-rise residential buildings. *Integrated Digital Design: Residential* explores the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) to manage and design residential projects. *Professional Environmental and Materials Science* covers the properties and performance of materials, emphasizing their role in creating resilient, safe, and sustainable buildings. The *Law* module provides essential legal knowledge for the built environment professions. *Architectural Design Studio 1* begins the journey into architectural design, requiring students to develop a conceptual design based on a project brief. *Architectural Design Studio 2* advances these skills by focusing on creating spatially coordinated designs, addressing technical aspects such as materials and structure through detailed architectural drawings.In the second year, students are required to complete additional core modules totaling 120 credits. *Built Environment Technology 2* builds on the foundation of residential construction methods from Year 1 and expands into commercial construction, incorporating sustainable techniques and relevant building regulations, health, safety, and welfare legislation. *Integrated Digital Design: Commercial* focuses on the role of digitalization and automation in commercial construction, aligned with global strategies such as the UK's *Digital Built Britain 2025*. *Design Practice* develops skills in assessing client needs, with a focus on architectural technology and building surveying, emphasizing communication through technical drawings. *Emerging Digital Technologies* addresses the application of new technologies in the built environment, responding to the fourth industrial revolution. *Technological Design Studio 1* is a practical module where students work on designing an industry-standard commercial building, considering site analysis and various influencing parameters. *Technological Design Studio 2* continues this practical focus, concentrating on the technical and sustainable aspects of designing a commercial building, including building services, structure, sustainability, and performance.In the final year, students complete a series of core modules totaling 120 credits. *Research in Practice* involves investigating a named site using research methods to gather data, focusing on sustainability and linking to the Design Project module. *Professionalism and Citizenship* develops professional skills within a socially responsive framework, addressing issues such as client relations, planning, financial appraisals, and legal considerations, while promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. *Urban Design Practice in Context* is a design-driven module where students tackle a small-scale urban design project, exploring design theory, practice, governance, and planning. The *Individual Honours Project* allows students to undertake an in-depth, research-focused project on a topic of personal interest, with support from a supervisor. *Digital Design Practice with Existing Buildings* introduces students to the BIM process, site surveying, and developing as-built BIM data for existing buildings, emphasizing practical application and professional delivery for clients.
