This fashion communication course spans three years, providing a comprehensive education in creative industries, communication, and design. In the first year, core modules include Creative Industries: Connections, which examines the historical connections between fashion and textiles and their influence on present trends. Art Direction for Print and Journalism introduces students to graphic design principles, with a focus on creating content for fashion publications. Future Thinking and Idea Generation fosters creative thinking, while Visual Storytelling emphasizes techniques in communicating fashion narratives through images. The Fashion Metaverse module delves into digital fashion film and explores emerging technologies like AR and VR in fashion marketing.Year two builds on the foundation with modules such as Creative Industries: Industry Futures, which prepares students for work placements, and Art Direction for Branding and Promotion, where students analyze branding concepts and market viability. Fashion Film with Styling explores fashion filmmaking, focusing on creative direction, styling, and visual storytelling. Students also choose from optional modules like Work Placement, Industry Project, or Independent Creative Entrepreneur, which offer practical experience and entrepreneurial skills.In the final year, students tailor their projects to their specific career interests. Core modules include Creative Industries: Development and Enquiry, where students conduct independent research, and the Final Major Project, where students create a substantial portfolio piece. The Craft & Make module focuses on bringing design concepts to life in a professional studio environment, and Commercialisation & Portfolio Prep equips students with the skills for self-promotion and transitioning into industry roles. Throughout the course, students are prepared for careers in various sectors of the fashion and creative industries, blending theory, practical experience, and entrepreneurial development.
