COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Fashion Management at Bath Spa University is structured across three trimesters to provide a comprehensive understanding of the fashion industry. In the first trimester, students focus on forming a fashion community, developing their knowledge of fashion buying and retail, and learning strategic brand management and digital marketing, all while adhering to sustainable principles. Lectures and seminars provide foundational insights into the business and ethical aspects of fashion. In the second trimester, students deepen their understanding of marketing, leadership, and sustainability, preparing for their final project. They are encouraged to apply for residencies, trips, or financial grants, with opportunities to engage with partner institutions in countries such as India, the USA, Namibia, Denmark, or Poland. This international exposure supports practical learning and broadens industry perspectives. In the final trimester, students undertake the Fashion Impact Project, collecting data in the UK or abroad, usually for three to four weeks, before producing a polished report or portfolio of their findings. This module can be partly completed through distance learning and online tutorials. The course culminates in a fashion symposium, where students present their work and celebrate their contributions to the future of fashion. Core modules include Entrepreneurship, Fashion Marketing, Sustainability, Strategic Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Fashion Leadership, Fashion Buying and Retail, and the Fashion Impact Project, equipping graduates with both practical and theoretical expertise.
