COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Creative Computing course offers a comprehensive pathway for students to develop expertise in creative technology, combining technical skills with imaginative application. In the first year, students gain foundational knowledge through modules such as CodeLab I, Web Development I, Ideation and UX Design, Digital Storytelling, Creative Coding, and Digital Visual Design. These modules focus on programming, design thinking, user experience, and visual communication, providing a solid base for more advanced study. In the second year, the course expands into practical and industry-focused areas with modules including CodeLab II, Alternative and Emerging Technologies, Creative Industry Challenge, Computer 3D Modelling and Visualisation, Indie Game Design, Extended Realities, Smartphone Apps, Web Development II, Image, Sound and Code, Physical Computing, Data Visualisation, Playful Media, and a Professional Placement Year. This combination of technical development and real-world experience allows students to build confidence and professional competence. The final year emphasizes independent and advanced practice through modules such as Creative Project, Creative Incubator, Cyber Security, Serious Games, Commercial Games, Creative Web, Web Games, Creative AI, and Industry Ready. Students develop a portfolio of work demonstrating their ability to design and deliver innovative digital experiences, preparing them for careers in game design, interactive media, web development, creative AI, or other technology-driven creative industries.
