COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Sports Management course provides a detailed understanding of business and management principles applied within the sports industry. In the first year, students build a foundation through core modules including The Business Environment, Professional Practice, Inclusivity in Sport, Economics and Globalisation, Organisational Behaviour and Management, and Sports Management, developing knowledge of business operations, management theory, and ethical considerations within sporting contexts. The second year focuses on the business of sport, with modules such as Business of Sport, Festival and Events Management, Entrepreneurship, Sports Law, Operations and Project Management, Sport and Society, E-Sports, Digital Marketing Essentials, and Food Product Development for Quality, Health and Exercise, alongside a Professional Placement Year, providing hands-on experience and industry engagement. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through modules including Contemporary Issues in Sport, Managing Sustainability, Creating and Hosting Festivals and Events, Sports Management Project, Leadership and Management, New Trends in Management, Organisational Strategy, Enterprise: Creating your Business, Strategic Human Resource Management, and Sustainable Marketing. The course emphasizes critical thinking, strategic decision-making, team collaboration, and practical application, preparing graduates to excel in sports administration, event management, marketing, leadership roles, and wider business contexts, with the knowledge and skills to address contemporary challenges in a dynamic, evolving industry.
