COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) International Relations and Politics course provides a comprehensive and interdisciplinary learning experience, beginning with a broad foundation in political ideas, theories, and analytical approaches. In the first year, students explore a wide range of concepts that help them understand global political systems and develop key academic and professional skills. The focus is on building critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and evidence-based analysis, encouraging students to challenge assumptions and engage with multiple perspectives. In the second year, the course delves deeper into international conflict, security, and development, examining the causes, persistence, and recurrence of global conflicts. Students also study the role of diplomacy, soft power, and the influence of art, culture, and activism in shaping international relations. This stage emphasizes applying theoretical knowledge to real-world case studies and issues. In the final year, students integrate theory and practice through a self-directed final project that reflects their personal interests and career goals. This project may take the form of a research dissertation, policy brief, digital resource, or community-based initiative. The course ultimately prepares graduates to navigate and influence complex global political environments with analytical insight, creativity, and practical understanding.
