COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Film, Television and Digital Production course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary media production, blending practical skills with critical and theoretical knowledge. In the first year, students gain foundational experience in short film production, studio production, digital creativity, and film studies, building technical expertise and creative confidence. The second year focuses on developing specialised skills through advanced short film and studio production modules, visual effects and motion graphics, scripting, and exploration of key movements in world cinema, while also offering a professional placement year to gain real-world industry experience. In the final year, students undertake major projects across short form drama and documentary filmmaking, live and recorded production, music videos, and post-production, allowing them to demonstrate creativity, technical proficiency, and project management skills. The curriculum encourages experimentation, collaboration, and innovation, preparing students to respond effectively to the challenges of the media industry. Alongside practical training, students engage with research, digital innovation, and global cinema studies, fostering critical thinking and contextual awareness.
