COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Drama (Musical Theatre) course at Bath Spa University provides a comprehensive and immersive education in performance, combining technical training, creative exploration, and professional development. In the first year, students develop foundational skills through modules such as Investigating Theatre and Performance, Building the Ensemble, Musical Theatre Repertoire, Performance Practices, Theatre Project, and Contemporary Theatre, focusing on ensemble work, performance techniques, and understanding the breadth of theatre practice. In the second year, students expand their abilities through practical and creative modules including Acting and Directing, Making Performance, Musical Theatre Workshops, Applied Theatre, Puppetry, Performance and Media, and Writing for Performance, while also gaining professional experience during the placement year.
