The BA (Hons) Creative Sound and Music Production course offers a structured and innovative curriculum that develops technical expertise and artistic creativity in sound and music production. In the first year, modules such as Audio Recording, Sound Design Exploration, and Creative Practice introduce students to the fundamentals of recording, producing, and designing sound, alongside developing a creative approach through projects like Audio Production and Applied Sound Design. The second year advances technical and conceptual understanding through modules like Foundations of Audio Processing, Sonic Art, and Hyper Production Techniques, encouraging students to experiment with sound and explore its artistic potential. They also gain insights into the Sound and Music Industries and develop interdisciplinary skills through Audiovisual Practice and Composition. The Professional Placement Year offers real-world experience, enhancing employability. In the final year, students undertake advanced modules such as Composition for Media, Game Audio, and Audio Post Production for Moving Image, refining their professional skills in sound for film, games, and digital media. The Research Project and Portfolio Project allow them to showcase their individual artistic identity, while Sonic Performance and Audiovisual Performance emphasize creative presentation and technical mastery, preparing graduates for careers in sound design, production, and multimedia composition.
