COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Creative Media course structure is designed to develop both creative and technical expertise through practical, industry-focused learning. In the first year, students gain a strong foundation in digital production through modules such as Short Film Production: Drama and Documentary, Digital Content Creation, Digital Practice, and Creative Photography. These modules introduce key storytelling, production, and visual communication skills across various media formats. In the second year, students expand their creative and technical capabilities through modules like Everyday Media Making, Advanced Digital Practice, and Promotional Media, while exploring collaborative and socially-engaged projects in Participatory Media. The inclusion of Visual Effects and Motion Graphics I and II allows for the development of advanced post-production and design skills, while the Creative Industry Challenge and Commissioning Content Creation modules bridge creativity with professional industry expectations. A professional placement year offers valuable real-world experience. In the final year, the focus shifts toward enterprise and innovation, with modules such as Creative Media Enterprise I and II, Creative Incubator, and Digital Innovation and Enterprise, culminating in a Personal Project. By graduation, students are prepared to launch their careers as adaptable, skilled, and entrepreneurial media professionals with a strong creative portfolio.
