COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Business and Management (Tourism Management) course provides students with a strong foundation in business principles while developing specialist expertise in tourism and destination management. In the first year, modules such as The Business Environment, Organisational Behaviour and Management, Economics and Globalisation, Managing Data, Design Thinking for Enterprise, and Professional Practice establish essential knowledge and practical skills. The second year expands this foundation with modules including Destination Management, The Marketing Business, International Business, Human Resource Management, Financial Accounting, Operations and Project Management, Innovation Management, Creativity for Business, Entrepreneurship, and Applied Economics. Students also have the opportunity to engage with sector-specific areas such as Festival and Events Management, Law for Business Enterprise, and Fashion Marketing and Management, while the Professional Placement Year offers valuable hands-on experience in real-world contexts. In the final year, advanced modules including Business and Management Project, Economics Project, International Marketing, Management Accounting, Strategic Human Resource Management, Enterprise: Creating Your Business, Organisational Strategy, Managing Sustainability, and Tourism: Contemporary Issues enable students to consolidate knowledge, demonstrate professional competence, and develop practical, strategic, and global business skills. Optional modules such as Cross-Cultural Management, Leadership and Management, Summer Placement, and Creating and Hosting Festivals and Events further enhance professional readiness.
