COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Acting course is structured over three years, each designed to build and refine a student’s performance, creative, and professional skills. In the first year, modules such as Preparing the Actor, Introduction to Acting, and Acting Processes in Action focus on developing core acting techniques, ensemble work, and understanding performance fundamentals. Students explore creativity and collaboration through modules like Form and Practice and Performance Practice, gaining confidence in live performance settings. The second year advances these skills with modules such as Text Project and Theatre Making, where students engage with diverse texts and develop original work. Modules like The Actor’s Portfolio Career and Mediated Performance introduce the business and screen aspects of acting, preparing students for professional practice. The Self-Directed Creative module encourages independence and personal artistic development. In the final year, students undertake major performance projects, including Live, Mediated, and Small Scale Productions, where they apply their learning in professional-style environments. The Acting Independent Study and Creative Portfolio modules allow students to specialize in their interests, showcase their abilities, and prepare for entry into the acting industry.
