COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Adult Nursing program is structured over two years, combining theoretical knowledge with practical clinical experience to prepare students for professional practice as registered adult nurses. In the first year, students focus on core principles of adult nursing, including understanding the fundamentals of nursing care, legal and ethical frameworks, and the management of adults with chronic conditions. This year also provides in-depth study of human physiology and pathophysiology, supporting evidence-based practice, and the development of essential nursing skills through the Nursing Practice 1 module, which offers practical experience in clinical settings. Building on this foundation, the second year concentrates on the care of adults with complex needs, exploring advanced clinical skills, decision-making, and multidisciplinary care approaches. Students also develop leadership and management abilities through the Lead, Innovate and Implement module, preparing them to influence healthcare practice and drive improvements in patient care. The Evidence for Practice Dissertation module enables students to undertake research, critically appraise evidence, and apply findings to practice. Nursing Practice 2 provides further supervised clinical experience, allowing students to consolidate and apply their skills in real-world healthcare environments. Across both years, the program emphasizes the integration of theory, research, ethics, and professional practice to ensure graduates are fully equipped to provide high-quality, patient-centered adult nursing care.
