COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Principles of Clinical Neuropsychology is a 180-credit program designed to provide a strong academic and research-based foundation in clinical neuropsychology. Core modules include Clinical Neuropsychology 1 in Semester 1 and Clinical Neuropsychology 2 in Semester 2, which together develop understanding of brain–behaviour relationships, neurological conditions, assessment principles, and clinical applications. Students also complete Advanced Research Methods in Semester 2, strengthening skills in research design, statistics, and critical evaluation, alongside a year-long 60-credit Research Project that allows independent investigation of a neuropsychology-related topic under academic supervision. The program offers flexibility through optional modules, from which students may select up to 60 credits to tailor their learning to specific interests. Options include Professional Skills in Psychology, Theoretical Models in Clinical Psychology, Behavioural Neurology, and Methods in Cognitive and Brain Research, covering professional practice, theory, neurological disorders, and advanced research methodologies. Students with an interest in brain imaging may also choose a limited number of neuroimaging modules in Semester 1, selecting two 10-credit modules from introductory and advanced options, subject to credit restrictions. Overall, the program integrates clinical theory, research skills, and optional specialist study, preparing graduates for further professional training, clinical research roles, or doctoral study in neuropsychology and related fields.
