COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc International Media and Management at Bangor University combines core business and management training with a focus on the creative industries, particularly the media sector. Compulsory modules provide a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. The Creative Industries module explores the global development of media and creative sectors, considering the social, economic, and political contexts that shape these industries. The Research Methods module equips students with the knowledge and critical perspective necessary to design and conduct research in media, cultural, and creative industries, preparing them for the dissertation. The Masters Dissertation allows students to work closely with a specialist supervisor to produce an extended research project, developing high-level skills in research, presentation, and self-management. Optional modules further enhance professional expertise, including Organisations and People, which provides an integrated understanding of management, organisational structures, and strategic leadership in complex global contexts. Intellectual Property Law offers insight into copyright, ownership, protection, and legal considerations relevant to creative work, while Marketing Strategy introduces students to foundational marketing principles, analytical models, and strategic management practices.
