COURSE CURRICULUM

The first part of the MSc Environmental and Business Management program at Bangor University comprises a combination of core and optional modules designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in sustainability and business. Core modules include Strategic Environmental Management, which develops systematic responses to environmental challenges using tools such as Environmental Impact Assessments, Lifecycle Assessments, and Energy Audits. Data Management and Analysis equips students with statistical, visualisation, and data-handling skills using Excel, R, and RStudio. Organisations and People explores management, organisational behaviour, and human resource management, providing insight into motivation, group behaviour, and cultural change. Strategic Management introduces the concepts of strategic and operational decision-making in dynamic business environments. Green Technologies focuses on energy generation, policy, and innovation while incorporating Geographic Information Systems and behaviour change for sustainable practices. Business Planning for Green Economies guides students through developing environmentally focused business plans, addressing the integration of sustainability into traditional business models. Optional modules allow students to choose between Finance for Managers, which develops essential financial planning and investment appraisal skills, or Natural Resource Management, covering sustainable utilisation of water, land, and vegetation. Assessment includes coursework, presentations, examinations, and a dissertation tailored to individual interests, allowing students to specialise in their chosen area of environmental and business management.
