COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Electronic Engineering is a postgraduate program that combines advanced theoretical knowledge with practical and research-based learning, requiring students to complete 180 credits. Core study includes Organic Electronics and Nanotechnology, which introduces emerging electronic materials, nanoscale devices, and their applications in modern engineering. Advanced Research Methods develops essential skills in research design, data analysis, and academic enquiry, preparing students for independent investigation. A major component of the program is the MSc Individual Project, a 60-credit module undertaken in the final semester, where students apply advanced engineering concepts to a substantial research or industry-focused project. In semester one, students select 40 credits from options such as Broadband Communication Systems, Advanced Optical Communication, and Mobile Communication Systems, allowing them to specialise in modern communication technologies and networked systems. Semester two offers a further 40 credits of options, including Advanced Control Systems, Prototyping and Fabrication, and RF and Optical MEMS, which focus on system control, hardware development, and micro- and nano-electromechanical technologies. Overall, the program is designed to provide strong analytical, design, and research skills, equipping graduates for careers in electronic engineering, telecommunications, advanced manufacturing, or doctoral research in rapidly evolving technological fields.
