COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc Business Data Analytics is a postgraduate program designed to develop strong analytical, technical, and research skills for data-driven decision-making in business and finance. The course structure combines compulsory, core, optional, and summer modules, allowing flexibility while ensuring a solid foundation in analytics. Students begin with core modules in Coding for Business Applications and Data Science, which introduce programming skills, data handling, and analytical techniques used in modern organisations. Compulsory modules include FinTech with Project, which explores digital financial innovations through applied project work, along with Financial Econometrics, focusing on quantitative analysis of financial data, and Research Methods, which builds essential skills in academic and applied research. Depending on intake, students complete the required number of compulsory credits to meet program regulations. Optional modules allow students to tailor their studies toward specific interests, such as e-Marketing, Credit Risk Analytics, International Financial Markets, or Investment Strategy and Portfolio Management, enhancing both business insight and financial expertise. In the final stage of the program, students complete one summer core module, choosing between an MSc Dissertation, a Finance Dissertation, or Financial Research and CFA, each worth 60 credits. This independent project phase enables students to apply analytical tools and research methods to real-world business or financial problems. Overall, the program prepares graduates for careers in business analytics, financial analysis, consulting, and data-focused managerial roles.
