COURSE CURRICULUM

The Environmental Management MBA at Bangor University combines environmental sustainability with business management, preparing students to address the complex challenges of integrating green practices into organisations. The program’s compulsory modules provide a comprehensive foundation in management, strategy, research, and environmental issues. Organisations and People examines organisational behaviour, culture, leadership, motivation, and team dynamics, equipping students to manage people effectively in complex environments. International Strategic Management focuses on strategic decision-making, linking strategy with human resources, marketing, finance, and knowledge management while exploring strategy formulation, implementation, and organisational learning. Management Research develops skills in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including interviews, surveys, case studies, and statistical analysis, enabling evidence-based decision-making. Business Planning for the Green Economy guides students through creating sustainable business ventures, considering entrepreneurship, environmental planning, and market strategy. Finance for Managers provides essential financial knowledge, covering accounting, budgeting, financial control, and investment appraisal techniques. Strategic Environmental Management introduces sustainable development principles, environmental legislation, auditing, assessment, corporate social responsibility, and green technology evaluation. The Green Technology module examines the environmental impacts of economic activities, energy generation, policy initiatives, and the application of technologies using tools such as GIS. In Part 2, students undertake a dissertation that applies the knowledge and skills gained to a practical, research-based environmental management problem, allowing for individual specialisation and demonstrating mastery of the subject.
