COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Law and Human Rights LLM at Bangor University provides a comprehensive exploration of modern international criminal law and international human rights law. The program enables students to understand the rights guaranteed under international law and examine strategies and procedures for their protection. Core modules include Legal Research Methods, International Criminal Law, and International Human Rights Law, equipping students with essential skills for high-quality legal research, critical analysis, and the construction of well-reasoned arguments supported by evidence. A major component of the course is the 60-credit dissertation, where students undertake independent research, contributing original insights to real-world legal and human rights challenges. Beyond the core modules, students can tailor their studies by selecting 60 credits from a range of optional modules, such as Global Crime and Justice, Business and Human Rights Law, Global Trade Law, International Climate Change Law and Policy, and Public International Law, allowing them to align their learning with specific interests and career goals. Throughout the program, students are encouraged to think critically, reflect deeply, and develop a global perspective on law and human rights issues.
