COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law program provides a comprehensive foundation in legal knowledge, skills, and professional practice across three years of full-time study. In Year 1, students complete core modules in public law, contract law, criminal law, legal skills, and law, justice and procedure, building an understanding of the English and Welsh legal systems while developing essential academic and practical competencies. Students also choose an optional module from related disciplines such as economics, politics, criminology, philosophy, or Welsh law, allowing broader social and contextual perspectives. Year 2 develops doctrinal depth and practical awareness through compulsory study of tort law, land law, equity and trusts, and professional skills. Students then tailor their studies through optional modules covering areas such as international law, commercial law, media law, intellectual property, criminal evidence, family and welfare law, law and technology, and work placement opportunities. In Year 3, students undertake a compulsory module in European Union law focusing on power, principles, and rights, alongside a wide range of advanced optional modules. These include specialist practice-focused areas, legal advice clinics, medical law and ethics, business and property practice, and the option to complete a dissertation. The program equips graduates with strong analytical, research, advocacy, and employability skills for legal practice or further study.
