COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLB (Hons) Law with Psychology program combines a full qualifying law degree with the scientific study of human behaviour, thought, and mental processes, offering a strong interdisciplinary foundation. In Year 1, students study core law subjects including contract law, criminal law, legal skills, and law, justice and procedure, while selecting psychology modules that introduce key themes such as brain and mind, criminal psychology, social influence, stress and mental health, and academic or scientific communication skills. Year 2 deepens legal knowledge through compulsory modules in tort law, land law, public law, and equity and trusts, alongside psychology options covering major approaches within the discipline, including developmental, cognitive, biological, behavioural, personality, and social psychology. In Year 3, students complete a compulsory module in European Union law focusing on power, principles, and rights, reflecting the broader legal context. They then tailor their studies through optional law modules in areas such as criminal evidence, family and welfare law, medical law and ethics, commercial law, law and technology, and work placements, as well as the option to undertake a dissertation. Psychology options at this level allow specialisation in applied, clinical, cognitive, biological, health, and forensic psychology topics, including counselling skills, forensic psychology, stress and health, neuroscience, and applied behaviour analysis. The program also includes a compulsory professional skills pathway in the final year, ensuring graduates develop strong analytical, research, and practical skills for careers in law, criminal justice, psychology-related fields, or further postgraduate study.
