COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Economics is a three-year undergraduate degree in which students complete 120 credits per year while developing strong analytical, quantitative, and economic reasoning skills. In Year 1, students build a solid foundation in core economic principles through introductory economics modules taught across autumn and spring, alongside business analytics and financial techniques and analysis. Optional modules allow students to broaden their understanding of management, accounting, strategic decision-making, and personal finance. Year 2 focuses on developing theoretical and quantitative depth through compulsory study of microeconomics, macroeconomics, international economics and trade, and econometrics. Students may also choose optional modules that explore specialist areas such as monetary policy, financial markets, behavioural and experimental economics, and business information systems. In Year 3, students progress to advanced and applied study with compulsory modules covering the global economy, financial economics, competition and strategy, advanced econometrics, applied economics, and bank management. Throughout the program, emphasis is placed on data analysis, economic modelling, and the application of theory to real-world economic and financial issues. Graduates of the program gain strong problem-solving, research, and analytical skills, preparing them for careers in economics, finance, banking, public policy, business, and further postgraduate study.
