COURSE CURRICULUM

This program provides a structured three-year pathway that develops strong foundations in computing, data science, and visualisation. In the first year, students gain essential knowledge by studying core areas such as mathematics for computing, web technologies, computer architecture, database systems, and both imperative and Python programming. These modules build the technical and analytical base required for more advanced study. The second year focuses on applying and expanding these skills through modules in industrial projects, business and enterprise programming, human-computer interaction, data structures and algorithms, data systems and ethics, and applied data science with Python. This stage emphasises practical experience, problem-solving, and ethical awareness in data handling. In the final year, students undertake an individual project supported by research methods training, allowing them to specialise in an area of interest. They also study creative and information visualisation, computer and network security, and advanced data management and analytics, further strengthening their technical expertise and communication skills. An optional summer placement offers the chance to gain real-world industry experience. Overall, the program equips students with a comprehensive skillset suited to data-driven careers by blending computing fundamentals, applied data science, visualisation techniques, and professional practice.
