COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Computer Information Systems for Business degree at Bangor University combines technical expertise in computing with a strong foundation in business, preparing students to excel in the digital era where information systems drive organizational success. In the first year, students develop core skills in web technologies, database systems, programming in Python, and imperative programming, while having the option to study business-focused modules such as management, marketing, finance, and business analytics. Year two builds on these skills with applied data science, system administration, application development, and industrial projects, alongside a selection of business modules covering areas like corporate finance, consumer behaviour, strategic management accounting, and marketing research. In the final year, students undertake an individual project and research methods module, while further advancing their technical expertise with courses in computer and network security and advanced data management and analytics. A summer placement provides real-world experience, and additional business modules allow students to explore international business, strategic marketing, financial technology, and innovation. Throughout the degree, students gain hands-on experience, practical problem-solving skills, and insights into the intersection of technology and business, preparing them for careers in computing, information systems, business analytics, and technology-driven management roles across global industries.
