COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Banking and Finance program is delivered over three years, with students completing 120 credits each year through a combination of compulsory and optional modules. In Year 1, students develop a strong foundation in banking, finance, and data skills through compulsory modules in business analytics, financial techniques, personal finance, and core economics studied across two semesters. Alongside this, students choose optional modules that introduce management, strategic accounting, ethics, sustainability, and a wide range of marketing and digital marketing subjects, allowing early exploration of business-related interests. Year 2 deepens financial and economic expertise with compulsory modules in central banking and monetary policy, econometrics, banks and financial markets, and investment and portfolio management. Students also select optional modules to tailor their studies, with corporate finance strongly advised, alongside choices in international economics, microeconomics, business law, and work-based commercial awareness. In Year 3, the program focuses on advanced and international perspectives through compulsory modules in international banking, advanced econometrics, and bank management. Students complete their studies by selecting optional modules in specialist areas such as financial technology, mergers and acquisitions, behavioural finance, corporate governance, and financial derivatives. Overall, the program provides a rigorous blend of theory, quantitative analysis, and practical financial knowledge, preparing graduates for careers in banking, finance, and related sectors.
