COURSE CURRICULUM

The taught stage of the MSc International Business programme provides a comprehensive understanding of global business operations, strategic management, international economics, sustainability, and emerging technologies. Students begin with Innovation in the UK and Global Business Environment, where they examine how technologies such as artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, and the Internet of Things are transforming industries and driving innovation across international markets. The module develops an understanding of digital business models, leadership challenges, and strategies for successful digital transformation in a global context. Strategic Management equips students with the skills required to analyse organisational performance, assess competitive environments, identify strategic opportunities, and make evidence-based decisions while considering ethical, sustainability, and corporate responsibility issues. Marketing Management focuses on the role of marketing in achieving organisational success within competitive and international environments. Students explore consumer behaviour, market analysis, strategic marketing planning, performance evaluation, and ethical marketing practices through practical case studies and real-world applications. The International Economic Environment module develops an understanding of the global economic forces that influence business decisions, including macroeconomic indicators, government policies, market structures, and international trade dynamics. Students learn to evaluate how economic conditions affect organisations operating in domestic and international markets while considering issues of fairness, equity, and sustainability. Sustainability in International Business explores how organisations can integrate environmental responsibility, social impact, and sustainable business practices into their strategies to create long-term value and competitive advantage across global markets. AI: Vision and Reality provides a broader perspective on artificial intelligence by examining its history, development, achievements, limitations, ethical implications, and future potential, helping students understand the growing influence of AI on business and society. A key feature of the programme is the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Project, where students work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams to solve real-world client challenges using design thinking, innovation, leadership, and sustainability principles. Together, these modules develop strategic, analytical, managerial, and collaborative capabilities, preparing graduates to operate effectively in international business environments.
