COURSE CURRICULUM

The taught stage of the MSc Business Analytics programme provides students with a comprehensive blend of technical, analytical, and strategic business knowledge. The programme begins with Fundamentals of Digital Technologies, where students develop essential mathematical, programming, and algorithmic skills using Python while exploring machine learning concepts and digital problem-solving techniques. Decision Models introduces mathematical and spreadsheet-based approaches for organisational decision-making, covering optimisation, risk analysis, uncertainty management, and multi-objective modelling. In Descriptive Analytics, students learn to interpret and communicate business insights through data visualisation, descriptive statistics, and effective data storytelling. Predictive Analytics builds practical expertise in data mining, dashboard development, data preparation, and statistical modelling techniques, enabling students to analyse business problems and generate actionable insights. The Machine Learning for Business Analytics module focuses on applying machine learning methods to real-world business scenarios, including forecasting, classification, regression analysis, sales prediction, pricing strategies, and risk assessment. Strategic Management develops the ability to evaluate organisational performance and competitive environments, formulate business strategies, and make informed decisions while considering ethical, sustainability, and corporate responsibility factors. A major feature of the programme is the Interdisciplinary Collaborative Project, where students work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams to solve real-world client challenges.
