The International Business program combines specialised knowledge with practical skills, providing a comprehensive foundation in the fundamentals of global commerce. Students explore a range of theories and concepts that explain the dynamics of international trade, the structure of overseas operations, and the impact of foreign direct investment on host countries. The program also encourages the development of entrepreneurial skills, enabling students to pursue careers as international entrepreneurs or work intrapreneurially within organisations. During the taught stage, learners engage with advanced international business topics, analysing different strategies and comparing business environments in developing and developed economies. They examine factors that influence international business decisions, including economic, management, and policy considerations, while developing the ability to think strategically and implement effective international business strategies. The curriculum also places a strong emphasis on transferable skills such as teamwork, leadership, and communication, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for a versatile career in international business across a variety of sectors. In the project phase, students undertake an in-depth investigation of a specific topic, problem, or opportunity, applying research skills to produce meaningful insights. This involves defining a research area, conducting an analytical literature review, selecting and applying appropriate methodologies, and gathering and managing relevant data. Students plan and execute a complex piece of work, engage in critical analysis, and produce a structured and coherent report with sound conclusions and proper referencing. Through this combination of taught modules, practical application, and independent research, graduates develop both the theoretical knowledge and practical expertise necessary to succeed in global business roles, while also gaining the confidence and analytical skills required to make informed strategic decisions in diverse international contexts.
