COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Logistics with Supply Chain Management program at Aston University provides a structured curriculum that develops knowledge and practical skills in logistics, transportation, and supply chain operations. In the first year, students build a foundation in business and supply chain concepts through modules such as Study and Research Skills, Building Professional Relationships, Introduction to Supply Chain Management, Introduction to Business Management, Interdisciplinary Design Project, Power Skills, Introductory Programming for Engineering and Physical Sciences, and Transport and Engineering Economics. These modules introduce the fundamentals of logistics systems and business operations. In the second year, students expand their knowledge by studying Supply Chain Simulation Modelling, Supply Chain Analytics and Optimisation, Purchasing Principles for International Supply Chains, Relationships and Collaboration in the Supply Chain, Land Transport, Air and Maritime Transport, Operations and Process Management, and Facilities and Systems. These modules focus on analytical tools, transportation systems, and operational efficiency within supply chains. The program also offers a placement year, allowing students to gain valuable industry experience with support from the university’s careers and placements team. In the final year, students explore advanced topics including Supply Chain and Procurement Strategy, Sustainable Supply Chains, Game-Based Simulation, Contemporary Developments in Supply Chains, Strategic Management and Finance in the Supply Chain, Leadership and HRM, and complete a Final Year Research Project, preparing them for professional roles in global logistics and supply chain management.
