The BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management degree at Aston University provides students with the knowledge and skills to manage construction projects effectively from inception to completion. In the first year, students develop a solid foundation in both technical and professional aspects through modules such as Introduction to Business Management, Construction Materials, Engineering Surveying, and Introductory Programming for Engineering and Physical Sciences. Complementary modules like Power Skills, Building Professional Relationships, Law for the Built Environment, and an Interdisciplinary Design Project focus on communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and understanding legal frameworks within the built environment. The second year emphasizes core construction management subjects, including Construction Quantification and Costing, BIM for Construction, Digital Construction, Health, Safety and Risk Management, Construction Contract Management, Building and Construction Technology, Construction Project Management and Planning, and Construction Project Development. These modules enhance technical expertise while introducing modern digital tools, project planning methods, and managerial approaches essential for the construction industry. In the final year, students consolidate their learning through advanced modules such as the Final Year Project, Building Services and Advanced Construction Technology, Leadership and Human Resource Management, Supply Chain and Procurement Strategy, and an Integrated Project in Construction Project Management.
