COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Visual Effects and Photorealistic Computer Graphics is an intensive one-year program that equips students with advanced, industry-standard skills across the entire VFX production pipeline, from pre-production to post-production. Beginning with an introductory ‘Swimming Pool’ stage, the course supports students in developing both technical proficiency and creative confidence. Structured across three units and six real-world projects, it provides hands-on experience in key areas including digital enhancement, simulation, shooting, lighting, environment creation, compositing, and leadership, while fostering project management and creative supervision skills. Students benefit from cross-campus collaborations with ARTFX’s locations in Lille, Paris, and Montpellier, as well as optional industry placements, masterclasses, and visits from leading professionals such as ILM, MPC, Dneg, and One of Us, strengthening industry connections and professional networks. The curriculum integrates practical VFX training with critical development of workflows, efficiency, and team-based collaboration, preparing students to manage complex projects in fast-paced environments. The course culminates in a major final project, allowing students to showcase their technical expertise, creative innovation, and professional readiness. Graduates leave the program with a polished portfolio, deep industry insight, and the confidence to pursue careers in visual effects and photorealistic computer graphics at both national and international levels.
