COURSE CURRICULUM

The MA Innovation and Creative Entrepreneurship course is structured into three 60-credit units designed to develop students as innovative, entrepreneurial, and socially responsible leaders. The first unit, Master’s Project 1: Orientation and Vision Setting, introduces reflective frameworks to help students interrogate their motivations, values, leadership styles, and team roles. It emphasizes equality, diversity, inclusion, sustainable design principles, and understanding complex challenges, or “wicked problems.” Students apply these concepts practically through a live project with an external partner, enabling hands-on experience alongside theory. Master’s Project 2: Exploration and Collaboration builds on these foundations, focusing on innovation and entrepreneurship in collaborative contexts. Students refine research methods, explore different innovation approaches, develop business propositions, understand legal structures, and practice storytelling for diverse audiences. Customer journey mapping and persona creation are explored to inform practical solutions, again tested through a live project with an external partner. Master’s Project 3: Creating and Strategising emphasizes professional application and strategic thinking. Students develop proposals for start-ups, intrapreneurial initiatives, collaborative projects, or open-industry problems, integrating sustainable approaches and global perspectives. Outputs may include prototypes, business plans, case studies, and research reports for external audiences, accompanied by a reflective journal documenting learning and decision-making. Across the three units, independent study and critical reflection underpin the development of a professional portfolio, demonstrating advanced skills, research application, and creative problem-solving in real-world contexts.
