COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year of BA (Hons) Sustainable Luxury: Fashion and Interiors, students are introduced to the principles of ethical design and sustainable practices, including inclusive approaches, ethical sourcing of materials, and the development of distinctive narratives and value propositions. The curriculum also explores transparent and responsible supply chain management, fostering awareness of accountability and enhancing graduate employability in both UK and international markets. Students begin to engage critically with the global luxury sector, examining its debates, challenges, and competing perspectives, while developing their own informed positions within this complex industry. In the second year, the focus shifts to applying sustainable design methods to creative practice, alongside a deeper understanding of luxury’s social and economic impacts, particularly in relation to social justice and environmental responsibility. Technological innovation, including digital passports and blockchain, is introduced to enhance transparency and traceability in sustainable luxury. In the final year, students are supported to develop strategies and policies for sustainable luxury and entrepreneurship, with an emphasis on driving social change. The course culminates in a Final Major Project that integrates all aspects of ethical practice, sustainable design, and social responsibility, allowing students to demonstrate their creative and strategic abilities while positioning themselves as informed, innovative, and responsible practitioners in the evolving luxury market.
