COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first year, the course introduces the core concepts and skills needed for a future career in marketing or advertising, beginning with the foundations of how the industry operates and key theories supported by historical and contemporary examples. You learn to understand audiences through a consumer insights unit, developing the ability to design meaningful campaigns that build engagement and loyalty. With social media being central to modern advertising, you gain hands-on experience creating digital content and strategies for online platforms. Throughout the year, you are encouraged to think critically about the ethical impact of advertising and to ensure your work is responsible and socially aware. In the second year, you expand your understanding by using data to develop targeted strategies and by managing digital content production. A core module in PR, branding and advertising allows you to produce campaign work for various media channels and respond to a live industry brief, gaining real-world experience. You also begin detailed career planning to prepare for life after graduation. In the final year, you work more independently, developing a self-initiated major project that may be based on a live brief, a hypothetical idea or preparation for your own business, supported by research and structured academic guidance to help you specialise in your chosen area.
