COURSE CURRICULUM

The course develops your skills progressively across three years, beginning in Level 4 with essential practical, creative and analytical foundations in make-up, prosthetics, wigs, postiche and hair design. Through workshops and supervised projects on peers, models and performers, you build confidence in technical application while also developing communication and interpersonal abilities needed in professional settings. You learn how to document your work through a developing portfolio and strengthen your research, reflective and writing skills to link critical enquiry with creative practice. Level 5 deepens these foundations by refining your technical abilities, encouraging you to identify specialist interests and understand your role within collaborative creative teams. You work on live projects in film, performance, photoshoots and events, supported by contextual study that helps you explore make-up as a transformative art form. These experiences strengthen your precision, creative decision-making and professional readiness. By Level 6, you operate with greater independence, using research, experimentation and reflective practice to define your academic and professional direction. You are encouraged to take creative risks, integrate conceptual and practical skills, and build a portfolio through live projects, collaborations and industry engagement. Learning Agreements guide your individual focus, supporting the final expression of your development as a self-directed practitioner.
