COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Dance, Movement and Creative Practice program guides students through a progressive journey of creative exploration, technical development, and professional identity formation. In the first year, students focus on play and discovery, using the body as a primary tool for performance while exploring interdisciplinary collaboration across theatre, digital media, visual arts, and design. Making and performing original work is embedded from day one, allowing students to experiment in traditional and unconventional spaces while developing an understanding of technologies that enhance creative practice. In the second year, the emphasis shifts toward refining physical and movement-based skills and shaping a personal artistic identity. Students expand their approach to interdisciplinary performance, movement direction, choreography, and film, while engaging in community, education, and health-focused projects. This year also develops skills in workshop facilitation, inclusivity, and accessibility, highlighting movement as a medium for empowerment, social change, and creative engagement. In the final year, students define their unique artistic voice and brand, proposing and executing a signature project that reflects their vision. They collaborate across disciplines and industry settings, taking control of performance, production, and technical elements, and bringing innovative work to real-world contexts. Graduates leave with a distinctive, versatile approach to movement and physical performance, prepared to lead, innovate, and make an impact in creative industries and beyond.
