COURSE CURRICULUM

The BA (Hons) Creative Direction program develops students' ability to lead and manage projects across the creative industries, combining practical experience with strategic thinking. In the first year, students form small production teams supported by tutors and technical staff, learning to design and deliver creative projects while being introduced to different sectors of the creative industries. Guest lectures and research activities help students understand the environmental and social impacts of creative work, and student-led projects are presented to external audiences to build confidence and professional skills. In the second year, students advance to more specialist study, working on projects for external clients and developing skills in research, pitching, and investment planning for creative enterprises. Opportunities for a six-week or year-long industry placement allow students to apply their skills in real-world professional contexts, gaining valuable experience and insight into the industry. The final year emphasizes independent learning and professional readiness, where students design and deliver a major creative project, pitching their ideas to colleagues, stakeholders, and alumni. Students may also work as consultants for an industry organisation or produce an in-depth dissertation to become an expert in a chosen area. The program equips graduates with the creativity, leadership, and strategic skills required to excel in roles across the creative industries.
