COURSE CURRICULUM

The Art, Health and Wellbeing modules provide a comprehensive framework for understanding how creative practice can address contemporary health, social and environmental challenges. Critical and Contextual Studies explores fundamental questions about the nature of art and creativity, their relevance in the 21st century, and their capacity to respond to wellbeing issues, while encouraging experimentation with existing and newly developed art methods through theory-informed practice and self-directed projects. Care Ethics: Place, Environment, and Community develops ethical awareness by examining how creative and socially engaged practices intersect with care ethics, public policy, environment and community health, prompting reflection on responsibility, impact and decision-making within complex contexts. The Grand Challenge module applies art as a transformative tool to tackle major local and global issues through multidisciplinary, industry-led collaboration, enabling students to design ethical, innovative interventions that respond to societal needs while building professional networks and enterprise skills. Care Practices: Creative Future Health focuses on participatory approaches, equipping students to work with diverse communities as active contributors in creative health initiatives within complex adaptive systems. Art for Health and Wellbeing culminates the learning experience by integrating personal values, research and experimentation into a focused project that demonstrates advanced understanding and the ability to develop impactful, real-world creative solutions for current and future health and wellbeing challenges.
