COURSE CURRICULUM

Core modules include: War, Peacebuilding and Reconstruction; International Institutions and Policy; Research Methods and Diploma; Metropolis, Mobility and Migration; Major Project. You’ll study the changing role of states, international organisations, and non-state actors as they challenge our ideas about power in the postmodern world. You’ll evaluate contemporary issues and policy dilemmas of the international arena in the context of globalisation, international law, trade, aid, and development. And you’ll be introduced to the key inter-state and inter-agency relationships that influence modern international politics. With an emphasis on understanding the current world order, and the positions of the great powers within it, you’ll be encouraged to evaluate the role of the state and non-state actors. You’ll also consider the challenges posed by war, peacebuilding and reconstruction, the implications of emerging economies, and mobility and migration.
