COURSE CURRICULUM

Core modules include: Shakespeare and Society; Romantic Ideals and Institutions; Special Topic in English Literature; Literature and Utopia; Research Methods for English Literature; Major Project. You will study a range of texts from different periods, engaging with critical theory and literary analysis. The curriculum emphasizes seminar-based teaching, encouraging discussion and debate. You will also have the option to take a work placement module, allowing you to gain practical experience in industries related to literature, such as publishing, journalism or education. The course culminates in a major project where you will conduct original research on a topic of your choice.
