COURSE CURRICULUM

The LLM International Business and Commercial Law at ARU provides a comprehensive exploration of the legal frameworks that govern international trade and business. Students begin by understanding the context in which international business operates, including the regulatory requirements and legal structures that underpin global commerce. Core modules cover areas such as international commercial contracts, e-commerce, international trade law, and commercial arbitration, enabling students to critically assess how businesses manage disputes in a globalised environment. The program also allows students to advance their knowledge in specialised areas through optional modules, including digital law and cybersecurity, international intellectual property law, comparative company law, competition law in the international context, issues in transnational commercial law, and corporate governance. Alongside these substantive legal studies, students develop essential academic skills, including research methodology, academic writing, referencing, and effective use of electronic databases. This foundation prepares them for the Major Research Project, where they independently plan, conduct, and present a substantial research project under academic supervision. Assessment throughout the course combines written essays, problem-solving assignments, and presentations, reflecting both analytical and practical abilities. By the end of the program, graduates will possess a thorough understanding of international business law, enhanced research capabilities, and the critical and professional skills required to operate confidently in global legal, regulatory, and commercial contexts.
