COURSE CURRICULUM

The BSc (Hons) Equine Business Management program is structured over three years to combine business management skills with specialist knowledge of the equine industry. In the first year, students develop a strong foundation through modules covering the fundamentals of the equine industry, equine science, husbandry and welfare, and integrated project and business management, alongside an introduction to university study. The second year focuses on applying business principles within equine contexts, with modules in professional business projects, research methods, sustainable equestrian enterprise, and the commercial influences on equine performance. Students can tailor their learning through optional modules such as financial management, business innovation, professional practice, horse and rider development, and veterinary interventions and diagnostics. In the final year, learning becomes more strategic and reflective, with core modules in ethical and sustainable equine welfare, strategic business leadership, and commercial and digital marketing. Further optional modules allow specialisation in areas such as international intercultural management, entrepreneurship, employment law, performance analysis, and developments in veterinary science. The program culminates in a major project, enabling independent research or applied business analysis. Overall, the course equips graduates with transferable business, leadership and analytical skills, alongside sector-specific knowledge, preparing them for careers in equine business, consultancy, management or the wider commercial sector.
